Hungary (1955- )
Born in Budapest in 1955, Illdiko Enyedi is one of Hungary's most prominent filmmakers. Her recent film, Simon the Magician, captured major awards at the Cannes, Locarno, and Entrevues film festivals. My 20th Century(1989) was heralded by critics around the world for its innovative surrealistic style of movie making, and for its uniquely feminist view of the role of women in Hungarian society.
